Redefining What’s Next: Phoenix Ignites the Future of Asset Lifecycle Management at EEI & FMI E+SD 2025
by Phoenix Energy Technologies on Oct 15, 2025
If you couldn’t catch us at EEI Fall National Key Accounts Workshop or FMI Energy & Store Development Conference (E+SD) this year, here’s the headline: Phoenix Energy Technologies is redefining what’s possible in asset, energy, and facilities management. Across both events, our team demonstrated how data integration, AI-driven insights, and condition-based analytics are reshaping HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting management—helping multi-site retail operators move from reactive maintenance to predictive, lifecycle-based strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.
From Comfort Optimization to Complete Asset Lifecycle Management
This year marked a major inflection point for Phoenix and for the industry. Building on our legacy in comfort and energy optimization, Phoenix officially expanded into comprehensive asset lifecycle management, bridging the gap between maintenance, repair, and replacement decisions with actionable, condition-based insights.
“We believe that the vendor who has the best access to the operating or condition-based data for these energy-intensive assets is best positioned to help customers make better decisions across the full life cycle of ownership—from maintenance to repair to replacement,” said Ryan Adelman, CEO of Phoenix Energy Technologies. “This asset management toolkit was the missing piece of the full value equation. We’ve now discovered the formula for balancing our comfort and energy optimization capabilities with asset health.”
That belief came to life at EEI and FMI as Phoenix showcased how our platform unifies comfort optimization, energy efficiency, and asset health intelligence—creating a single operational practice that helps organizations reduce costs, extend equipment life, and meet sustainability goals.
What We Showcased and Why It Resonated
Phoenix team engaging with attendees at the EEI Fall National Key Accounts Workshop in Birmingham, AL — showcasing real-time analytics and asset lifecycle insights in action.
At EEI, discussions centered around utility cost reduction, demand charge management, and the need for scalable, standardized energy strategies. A week later, at FMI E+SD, food retail leaders focused on cold chain protection, regulatory compliance, and refrigerant management. Across both events, the conversation kept coming back to one theme: how to connect comfort, energy, maintenance, and capital planning into one integrated data ecosystem.
RefrigerationIQ™ powered by Hussmann StoreConnect™
At the center of the action was our partnership with Hussmann Corporation and the debut of Automated Refrigerant Leak Detection (ALD) capabilities within Refrigeration IQ. Attendees saw how AI and telemetry can proactively detect and quantify leaks—helping grocers prevent product loss, cut refrigerant waste, and stay ahead of compliance requirements. It wasn’t just a demo; it was a glimpse of the future of sustainable refrigeration management.

HVAC IQ™
For operators seeking better control over maintenance and capital planning, HVAC IQ stood out as the solution that bridges data and decision-making. By scoring rooftop unit health in real time, it empowers facility teams to prioritize repairs based on actual asset condition.
“HVAC IQ has been a game-changer for our facilities organization, enabling us to graduate to a more data-driven management practice, filling a key data gap we have: how to incorporate asset condition-based data into our capital and resource planning process,” noted Megan Runnion, Manager of Energy & Sustainability for Ulta Beauty. “We have seen Phoenix's product roadmap for HVAC IQ and we are very excited to use the new functionality in our operations.”
Her perspective underscored what many attendees felt—that the ability to correlate asset health, age, and service history fundamentally changes how organizations plan and budget for the future.
Technician View™
Technician View sparked conversations about field productivity and accuracy. By giving service technicians visibility into system data before dispatch, it accelerates first-time fix rates, reduces truck rolls, and shortens downtime. Attendees appreciated how it closes the loop between analytics and action—bringing data to the hands of those who need it most.
Premium Services & Demand Charge Management
In both Birmingham and San Diego, Phoenix also demonstrated the measurable ROI behind its Premium Services and Demand Charge Management offerings. These enable operators to orchestrate HVAC behavior during high Time-of-Use periods, optimize vendor performance, and leverage real-time diagnostics for both immediate and long-term impact.
Real Conversations. Real Momentum.
The engagement at both events was electric. Attendees weren’t just curious—they were ready to act. Many facilities and energy leaders shared a common goal: to make smarter decisions, faster, with data they can trust. Phoenix met that need by showing how our platform connects day-to-day operations with long-term asset strategy.
Today, Phoenix manages 45,000+ buildings, 250,000 rooftop units, and over 637 million square feet of facilities nationwide. That scale enables us to turn real-world insights into repeatable outcomes that drive performance across retail, grocery, and commercial portfolios.
Beyond the booths, what truly defined both EEI and FMI was the opportunity to reconnect face-to-face with industry peers, customers, and partners who share our vision for smarter, more sustainable operations.
The conversations didn’t stop when the sessions ended — they continued over dinners and late-night discussions about innovation, collaboration, and the future of asset intelligence.
The Phoenix Energy Technologies team — proud to represent our customers and showcase the future of intelligent asset management.
