DALLAS- April 19, 2017- The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM), the authority on retail, multi-site facilities management, announced today that Lisa Varga, CEO, Phoenix Energy Technologies was named 2017 Supplier of the Year. The award was presented today during PRSM2017 National Conference in Dallas, TX.
PRSM’s Supplier of the Year award is one of the organization’s highest honors and is presented annually to honor performance excellence by a supplier to the retail facilities maintenance industry.
“I am honored and truly humbled by receiving this award,” said Varga. “PRSM has been a big part of my career and professional growth. I love the community which makes it easy to give back as I have received so much in return!”
Varga has received numerous awards from PRSM during her career including the Service Excellence Award (2008), Outstanding Volunteer Award (2009) and Supplier of the Year in 2012.
“Lisa is an exceptional supplier, who leads by example for the rest of the industry,” said Jonathan Bauer, 2017-18 Chair. “She is passionate about the industry and constantly seeks ways she can help others and improve the industry and those who around her.”
Varga has worked in the waste and energy management industry for over 20 years mainly focused on national retail accounts. This wealth of experience has helped her identify innovative ways for retailers to meet their savings and energy efficiency goals through technology solutions. Phoenix Energy Technologies, which Varga founded, has been serving national retail clients for over a decade and boasts a long record of successful client engagement. She sold 70% of her company to Duke Energy in October of 2015 and currently serves as the CEO.
Varga has also served on the PRSM Board of Directors and was a major contributor to the creation of the organization’s Governance model. She also started PRSM’s sustainability programs, developing workshops to help energy experts learn more about sustainability initiatives. She is recognized industry-wide as a role model for women and a mentor to other industry professionals.
